I know someone who got into Stanford off the waitlist two years ago by schmoozing with an influential alumni. Regardless if it helped or not, it couldn't hurt to submit an "I love Stanford" letter and/or have an alumni write on your behalf.
a waitlist isn't bad at all. not the ideal scenario obviously, but at least you're still in the game!.....so the wait continues? or do you think you'll go to chicago?
grr is the word. I was pretty sure you'd make it, but hey it is far from over. I hear Stanford waitlisted 50 for round 2, so it is not bad at all. Though the Stanford class is small, their biggest competitor for dual admits HBS's intake is 900. Plus tons of S admits get into HBS (the other way is not true). So you have a very real chance. If you can, get some influential alumni in the valley to write you a reco. Stanford pays a lot of attention to that sort of thing. Good luck.
Lol, you should be happy. With all the admits you have you can easily sit on the waitlist and not worry about your future. I hope it works out for you but even if it doesn't you are in really good hands. You have both hands full babe. You should party hard!! And enjoy!
See, even Stanford thinks you're too good for them so they're just putting you on the waitlist to see if you'll actually show interest and want to go because they're worried about their yield numbers. I mean come on, why else would they waitlist you? :)
See if Stanford will trade you one admit for the 3 you have in hand ;-) They'll commend you for your business acumen and knowledge of the medieval business transaction - barter economy.
Hoping that you get off the waitlist sooner rather than later - you definately deserve it - i'll throw in a prayer if you allow me to tell people I know someone who got into Stanford!
i logged in right now (in Milaan) just to check on your result...well just hang in there mate and you will make it... i can see us having a blast there....just keep the faith... good positive thoughts... (i know its easier said than done)...but i really hope that stanford is your first choice (as chicago GSBs gain will be Stanford's loss) :) cheers ash
it's one of my favorite books! i thought it was amazing how he managed to blur the line between fact (or what we believe to be fact) and fiction. i ended up buying and reading his other three books within a week of completing the da vinci code.
